Collins & Blaha, P.C. is involved in all aspects of special education matters including the identification, evaluation, and placement of students under the Individuals with Disability Education Act and under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. We represent and counsel school districts during the Individualized Educational Planning Team process, disciplinary hearings, and the District’s provision of a Free Appropriate Public Education.
In most instances, the firm is able to avoid the hearing process through aggressive intervention and negotiations with parents, guardians, or their representatives. However, when litigation has become unavoidable, the firm has successfully defended the District’s decisions on identification, evaluation, placement, services, and student discipline challenges.
