Seth A. Filthaut earned his bachelorís degree in Criminal Justice from Grand Valley State University, where he was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society. Mr. Filthaut then went on to receive his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Michigan State University College of law. During law school he served as a legal extern at Region 7 of the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit, Michigan.

Following law school, Mr. Filthaut was a research attorney to the Michigan Employment Relations Commission and Bureau of Employment Relations in Detroit, Michigan. At Collins & Blaha, P.C., Mr. Filthaut practices general education law with an emphasis in labor and employment law.
