  Revised School Code

The Revised School Code is the comprehensive law governing the organization and operation of public school districts and public school academies in this state. Collins & Blaha, P.C. applies and interprets the Code on behalf of its clients in the context of a broad spectrum of issues including the purchase, sale, and lease of property; annexation and consolidation of school districts; special education; student discipline; athletic competition; purchase of textbooks; school curriculum; and school construction matters.

In July 2011, several amendments were made to the Code which directly impacts a school districtís operation with regard to layoff and recall procedures, remedies for failing to recall a teacher, the teacher performance evaluation system, the administrative performance evaluation system, and parental notice regarding ineffective teachers. Collins & Blaha, P.C. closely monitored these reforms and provides information and advice to clients regarding the impact that these amendments will have in their District.
